The City (Season 1 )| Ep. 18 | 'Hit It And Quit It' - recap and photos
Whitney confesses to Roxy that Jay has been calling and texting her and that she is considering meeting up with him.
She admits that she contacted him the last time he was in town, leading Roxy to question why she never mentioned her "booty call" before.
"I wanted to leave it in the past," she explains. "But now I think he thought that it meant something and I owe it to him to see him and explain what is going on."
Over at Elle magazine, director of PR Erin asks Olivia if she is ready for their upcoming event in support of the Kipton Art Foundation at the Longchamp store. She explains that People's Revolution is representing Longchamp and that they need to direct their employees to make sure they get the best photos.
Olivia says that Whitney, her former colleague from Diane von Furstenberg, will be there, and claims that she is "good friends" with the founder of Kipton. She also jokes about the event being just a "cocktail party", although Erin looks unimpressed.
Later that evening, Whitney meets Samantha for a yoga class and wonders if Jay ever found out that she brought Freddie to his house. Sam advises her not to think about Jay and focus on her relationship with Freddie. She says that she wouldn't be giving Freddie a fair chance if she decides to meet Jay.
Whitney arrives at the restaurant to meet Freddie and is stunned to find that he has brought his father. She tells him about her fashion project and how difficult it has been to find money and backing. Freddie's dad warns her it is a hard time to be seeking sponsorship and that people are reluctant to back newcomers.
After he leaves, Freddie admits that it was "awkward" while Whitney wonders whether it was too early to introduce her to his parents.
The next day, Olivia and Erin arrive at Longchamp to discuss the event with Whitney and Roxy. Erin asks Roxy to supervise the photographer. She also requests that Olivia help direct Roxy because she claims to know so many of the guests.
As Whitney and Roxy prepare for the event later, the former reveals that Freddie will be coming and explains about the dad situation.
Roxy thinks it's weird and Whitney admits it made her remember how cool Jay's mom was. She also says that Freddie knows Olivia and she wonders how they will interact.
The party gets underway and Freddie arrives and greets Olivia by the door. Whitney wants to go and talk to him but Kelly advises that she makes him come to her.
Eventually the pair meet up and he apologizes for bringing his dad to dinner. He promises to make it up to her.
Elsewhere, Olivia introduces Roxy to the house photographer and immediately abandons her, leaving Roxy to vent her frustrations to Erin. "It's crazy," she complains. "I don't know how you deal with it."
Erin responds: "It's been a challenge. She has two options - either we are going to work together and she'll be a team player or she'll be gone and I'll make sure of it."
The next morning Roxy recounts the incident to Whitney, who questions why Erin doesn't just fire her.
Roxy goes on to say that she is "concerned" about Freddie because she thinks there "is something weird" with him. Whitney says they can't judge him on his friendship with Olivia. She also adds that she has decided to see Jay that night.
Over at the Elle office, Erin questions Olivia about what happened with Roxy. Olivia claims that Roxy should have known what to do because she is a PR, but Erin suggests that Olivia's behaviour didn't reflect well on the magazine and Roxy thought she was rude. "I'm not rude," replies Olivia. "That's her problem."
Later that evening, Whitney meets Jay and he says that he heard "some dude" had been at his house with her.
Whitney admits that she was wrong to have brought Freddie to his apartment, but Jay is still unhappy. He questions why she would choose to date a Wall Street guy and someone who is friends with Olivia.
Whitney defends her decision claiming that it is her life and she can do what she wants. "I hope you made the right choice," replies Jay, as he leaves the restaurant.

Whitney's apt is so cute. I love the long mirror and all the built ins. I didn't like Roxy at first but she's grown on me.
