Erin Kaplan Dishes on All the Dirt from ‘The City’

Erin Kaplan — PR director at Elle on The City— isn’t the bitch you think she is… she just expects a lot and doesn’t take any crap. But with smart-mouthed Olivia Palermo working under her at Elle, she admits she’s got to be one tough cookie. “The bottom line is I want what’s best for this magazine and if Olivia comes back and she does an amazing job, I’m going to tell her that,” Erin tells OK! “But, what you see is not that.”
When Erin learned Olivia was coming to Elle, she knew her time on camera would be with Olivia and talking about her.
“I really don’t spend the majority of my day talking about her and thinking about her, that’s not my work life,” explains Erin. “What you see on the show is such a tiny bit of both of our jobs.”

Erin took the job of working with Olivia to introduce her to people that could help her at the magazine.
“When she came in I was skeptical of how well her and I would work together and how well she would work as a team player and I voiced my concern to Joe [Zee], obviously, but if she does well for the magazine then I’m game,” she tells OK!.
With her signature eye rolls, it might seem like Erin is a bit unimpressed with Olivia and wants her to fail, but that’s not the case. Erin says Olivia doesn’t have anything to prove because they’re a team at the same magazine. Since she spends more time with Olivia than Joe Zee, creative director at Elle, she has become Joe’s eyes and ears.
“I think she should do well for the benefit of the magazine,” explains Erin.
As for Olivia’s performance, Erin says Olivia is new and there are certain areas where she excels and others she doesn’t. “I think it’s just finding out what she is good at and running with that,” said Erin. “My advice for her would be to learn as much as you can.”

Erin has been frustrated watching the show, because any time Olivia did well, she would tell both her and Joe, but it’s never shown. “If I’m portrayed as hard or a bitch on camera, that’s one thing, but to portray me as somebody that doesn’t care about what’s best for the magazine is totally different, and that’s been the most frustrating thing,” says Erin.
Erin’s thoughts on how she looks on camera, “I definitely think I smile more. I’m generally a happy person, and I don’t smirk as often as I do on the show!”

Kristin Cavallari is Already Starting To Dress Like Justin Bobby!

At first we didn't think anything of it when we saw these pix of K-Cav out and about on Melrose. Then we had a sudden, horrifying realization: she's starting to dress just like the guy she's pseudo-dating!

Watch out, Kristin -- it starts with flannel shirts and then, before you know it, you're burping out the alphabet and getting "ITALIA" tattooed on your stomach.
Or, worse, showing up to parties in his-and-hers plaids. Hey, don't laugh -- it happened to Audrina...

That Justin and Audrina pic is hilarious but honestly if Kristin is channeling anyone, It has to be Lauren...

Erin Kaplan Tries On Olivia Palermo's (Old) Shoes For Size

ast week on The City, Erin Kaplan wore her disdain for Olivia Palermo like a Lady Gaga VMA outfit. Elle's Director of Public Relations (and owner of the worst poker face in the history of passive-aggressive publicists) was clearly rooting for 'Liv to fail, no matter how hard the silver-spooned 'social'-turned-Accessories Editor shvitzed to impress the Zee-Man.
Our hope at the time was that Erin would have come around by this week's episode and shown a little more tact and professionalism when dealing with Olivia. Turns out, Erin kinda broke our heart.

We know, we know, Olivia's no angel. In fact, it wasn't too long ago that she was all Bossy McBosserstein with Whitney at DVF. Thing is, 'Liv's been behaving quite well since her 'eff this' outburst on the City premiere, and Erin only appears to be getting pissier. Sooooo ... is Erin the new Olivia? And an even bigger and burninger question: As 'Liv stays classy amidst an ocean of she-devils in Prada, can Erin reign in her spite and rise above this petty rivalry?

Roxy Olin's other gig: Acting on 'Brothers and Sisters'

***SPOILER ALERT*** This post contains spoilers on an upcoming episode of Brothers & Sisters.
In the November 1st episode, "Zen & the Art of Mole Making," it looks like Kevin and Scotty find the perfect surrogate candidate to carry their child . And big surprise, they've met her before! The character's name is Michelle McCormack, who you might remember in Episode 1.12 as the girlfriend of closeted soap hunk Chad Berry (Jason Lewis).

If you notice Michelle bears a passing resemblance to Holly then you're on to something because the actress, Roxy Olin, is daughter to Patricia Wettig and Executive Producer (and co-star) Ken Olin. With brother Cliff Olin on the writing staff, it looks like now every member of the Olin family works on Brothers & Sisters.

I'm a big Brothers & Sister's Fan. Do any of you watch too?

Viewers of 'The Hills' head for them

Judging by recent ratings of MTV’s reality show “The Hills,” Lauren Conrad is getting the last laugh.
Conrad, who had been the focus of the series since its debut in 2006, apparently took a good chunk of its audience with her when she left the show earlier this year.
Her replacement as star of “The Hills,” Kristin Cavallari, who constantly bested Conrad when both of them were high-school romantic rivals on MTV’s “Laguna Beach,” isn’t the ratings draw MTV hoped she would be.
Viewership for the season premiere on Sept. 29 were down 30 percent from the previous season premiere last April, to 2.36 million total viewers, according to Nielsen’s live-plus-same-day ratings.
MTV pointed out then that the show was still the highest-rated cable show in the channel’s target audience, viewers 12-34, as well as the highest-rated program on television in its timeslot in that demographic.
But since then ratings have fallen some more, tumbling to 1.72 million viewers for the season’s third episode last Tuesday.
That episode, which aired at 10 p.m., averaged 1.06 million adults 18-34, the demo "Hills" dominated during its first few seasons. That's less than half the 2.3 million who tuned in to the show at its peak two years ago.
It's also down a third from what the show averaged last June, during its most recent season with Conrad, though it remains MTV's second-most-watched show in the key demo and still ranks in the top 15 on cable.
