Lo Bosworth - The Hills: My Experience

by Lo Bosworth
It's officially over. A long chapter in my life closed. What did I lose? A little dignity here and there, sure. What 23-year old hasn't slipped up once or twice over the course of their young adulthood? But more importantly, what did I learn and gain?
Before getting into all of that, let's start with a brief history of my time on The Hills. It started way back when (2004 to be precise), as a senior in high school. MTV came knocking on the door at Laguna Beach High School, and I answered it. We truly thought Laguna Beach would live as a one-hour episode of True Life, but we were wrong. The show changed reality TV forever, and my life as I knew it.
Next, I went off to college, UCSB. Transferred to UCLA my junior year. Started seeing Lauren again, as we both were living in LA. The Hills was already up and running, finishing production on its second season. I was around the cameras at times with her (it was a reality show after all), and our executive producer and creator (the same one from Laguna) asked me to re-join the cast.
Truthfully, I was a bit apprehensive. The reality TV thing didn't go over so well during my time in Santa Barbara, and I was wary of being bullied forever. However, a paycheck is a paycheck and since Dad told me I needed to get a job (groan), I figured this was the quickest way for me to pay the bills.
The show got huge during the third and fourth season. I always found myself walking the fine line between sharing my life more openly with the cameras, and completely blocking them out. I'd block them out more often than not, but in the long run I feel that choosing to fly under the radar is the one reason I'm still sane today. I think that now, without worrying what the editing room will do to me, that I can share who I am more comfortably with all of you.
Who am I? I'm a girl trying to figure out how to start a meaningful life. I love my family, my friends and my boyfriend. My favorite color is orange. I like science and historical fiction. I love to write. My blackberry doesn't ever leave my side. My closet is exploding and my room is messy more often than not. My hair doesn't grow-out blonde and I always feel a little bit fat.
I've learned that being normal is a-okay. In fact, that I prefer normalcy to anything else. I started the show with an education in art history, and I'm leaving with an education of The Industry. I now know cool stuff like: how to make a television show, what exactly a talent agent does, and how a huge network like MTV is run. I find it to be particularly enthralling, and it's an education I'll take full advantage of. Finally, I've learned that at the end of the day, while my gig on The Hills was a great job, it was just a job. There are bigger people, places and things out there. Now, I get to discover them.
Thanks for the support and for watching (112 episodes, craaazy). I hope that you'll like the real me once you begin to discover who I am underneath it all.

Brody Jenner Reveals Alternate 'Hills' Ending With Lauren Conrad

"The Hills" bid a fond farewell on Tuesday night with a somewhat surreal last scene, featuring Brody Jenner and Kristin Cavallari on what is revealed to be a fake Hollywood backdrop. But Jenner said there was an even more baffling ending planned, involving another of his exes.
He revealed to MTV News backstage at the aftershow party that it included some face time with Lauren Conrad, who did make an appearance on the aftershow.
"We filmed a couple different endings and we didn't know which one they were gonna use. There were some other ones that were great as well," Brody teased about the LC ending. "One of the other endings, Lauren was in it. She had come back into the show for the last episode. I come back home, and basically Lauren's at my place [and I tell her about saying goodbye to a friend]. We filmed this whole lovey-dovey scene as if me and Lauren had been together this entire time. So it was another fun, cool ending. ... I think they thought it would confuse the viewers."
"That day of filming it was surreal to me because they wouldn't tell me what we were filming," he continued. "I think the show has always battled with what's real and what's fake, and this ending was perfect because you still don't know what was real, what was fake and it's kind of like L.A. in a sense. I thought it was very clever and I was happy with it. I was stoked they were ending it with me. I was flattered."
So is it real? Well, yes and no. "I would say it's entertainment and just enjoy it; don't question it too much. There were a lot of moments that were real and a lot of moments that were not so real."

Spencer Pratt Kicked Out of Hills Finale

Spencer Pratt wasn't with the rest of The Hills gang at Tuesday's series finale party in Hollywood -- but he made sure his presence was felt.
Dressed as an elderly man with a bushy grey wig and beard, crystals around his neck, Pratt held court outside the Roosevelt hotel (where the afterparty was taped) surrounded by perplexed fans. The reality villain -- along with Emilio, ex-boyfriend of Jersey Shore's Snooki -- tried to crash the screening. Security police eventually escorted him from the hotel property.
"I wasn't invited to that party, so I'm having my own party with the people on the Hollywood Walk of Stars!" Pratt, 26, explained to Perez Hilton on camera.
He added: "I spend a lot of time being hated and I feel like I want a little closure."
As he posed for pictures with fans and signed autographs, Pratt promised, "[Now] you will see the real Spencer Pratt. I'm legally released now to be free in America. Freedom of speech. So you can hear my obnoxoius mouth on a whole, grander scale
Where was his estranged wife Heidi Montag? "She's...I dunno, with puppies."
When Hilton asked if Montag was invited, he quipped, "No, she was not. LC does the list," referring to his age-old grudge against former star Lauren Conrad.
Roosevelt insiders tell UsMagazine.com that Pratt tried to buy drinks for the entire bar at the hotel that afternoon -- but his card was declined.
The star has been increasingly erratic as The Hills wound down this year: following his wife's drastic plastic surgery procedures, an odd foray into expensive New Age crystals, and estrangement from friends and family, Pratt left the show after allegedly threatening a female producer. He and Montag subsequently filed for divorce, although many smell a publicity stunt.

I never usually post photos of Spencer but this was too ridiculous not tO. I think the disguise looks just like him - only 10 years down the line ;) LOL

Lauren Conrad: Calling Spencer "Sucky" Was "So Lame"

Lauren Conrad memorably dissed Spencer Pratt as a "sucky person" in season two of The Hills.
Looking back, she says she wishes she would have chosen a different insult.
"You know what, that's so lame because I didn't want to cuss on camera! So 'sucky' was the first word that came to my head and it follows me everywhere!" Conrad told UsMagazine.com at the Hollywood party to celebrate the series finale of The Hills Tuesday night.
"Who says that? That's not my favorite!" she added.
But Conrad, 24, says she has "no regrets" about leaving the show after its fifth season.
"I'm happy when I left. I think it was the right time for me, and I mean, I probably have a million regrets about the stuff I did on the show! But I mean, just little stuff," she told Us.
Conrad said it was "really cool" to appear on the reunion show (taped at The Roosevelt Hotel) alongside co-stars Audrina Patridge, Lo Bosworth, Stephanie Pratt and frenemy Kristin Cavallari. "I got to say goodbye a year ago to everybody, but this is kind of a nice opportunity. It's so cool to be included."
Up next for her?
"I have a book tour starting Oct. 5, a style guide and the third novel in my L.A. Candy series, so that'll be fun," she told Us. She may even appear on TV again.
"I don't know! I am really happy where I am right now," she said. "I love doing the books, I love doing the clothing line. It's great, but I did enjoy doing television. I don't think I'd ever do reality that involved around my personal life again! I think I got my fill!"
When asked if she was "sad" that Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt weren't invited to the finale party (Spencer held an impromptu press conference outside the hotel), Conrad joked, "Not for me! Um, I think that was the network's decision."
As for the series' surprise ending, in which Brody Jenner and Cavallari tearfully say goodbye as the camera zooms out to reveal they're shooting on a Hollywood lot, Conrad admits she didn't watch it.
"I actually didn't see this season," she told Us. "I watched my final episode and I really liked how it ended and that was when the show was done for me."

Hills Cast: 2010 Finale - Red Carpet Photos

Weren't watching MTV.com's live stream of "The Hills" finale? It's cool, we glued our eyes to the computer screen and did some due diligence so we could streamline all the chatter for ya. Below are CliffsNotes of all the juicy stuff:
+ Audrina Patridge has got a new man, and it's not Justin Bobby or Ryan "Spiky" Cabrera! According to Audrina, she's back with pro BMX rider Corey Bohan. "He's always been my one true love," she told MTV News' Tim Kash.
+ Brody Jenner may be bummed his time on "The Hills" is over, but the one thing he's really looking forward to? Privacy! Dude's lips = sealed (and tattoos = shrouded in plaid, of course) when asked by Tim about his relationship with Avril Lavigne.
+ Stephanie Pratt is still dating motorcycle man Josh! We're so happy to hear that she's finally found a good guy who appreciates her awesomeness.
