After spending a few weeks in Europe promoting her new album, Avril Lavigne is back stateside.
Joined by her omnipresent boyfriend Brody Jenner, the What the Hell singer was seen out and about in New York City today (March 8).
Despite the paparazzi presence, Avril made the best of the situation by handing out copies of her new album Goodbye Lullaby to the shutterbugs. The new album, which officially drops today, is a departure from Avril’s mainstream pop roots and that’s just the way she likes it.
“I’m older now. I’ve done the whole pop-rock, aggressive, bratty, playful, boy-bashing stuff,” the 26-year-old chanteuse tells Billboard. “I’m not really there right now, so I definitely didn’t want to keep making the same record over and over."
