While some say that scripted television is dying, irony is, in fact, very much alive. Days before an episode of The Hills aired showing Stephanie Pratt confronting Holly Montag about her excessive drinking, Spencer’s 23-year-old sister was pulled over and arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Hollywood.
Given the personalities involved, and the public forum in which it the arrest took place, it had all the makings of a very real meltdown. But to the younger Pratt’s credit, she’s weathered the storm and come out stronger because of it.
“It was the worst thing to happen to me and, at the same time, it was the biggest blessing,” Pratt told PEOPLE at the Maxim and Ubisoft launch of Assassin’s Creed II in West Hollywood on Wednesday. “I learned to not fall apart, which is something that I usually do when something goes bad in my life. I learned that it is all about temptation and that I am being tested.”
Being tested in Hollywood is an everyday occurrence — as is the subsequent fall from grace — but the plucky blond reality star seems determined to transform her arrest from embarrassment to betterment.
“This is the first time that I haven’t screwed up more after a bad thing,” Pratt says, “and I didn’t fall apart and say, ‘I hate my life, I want to die!’ It’s the first time in twenty-three years that I went the other way!”
And that “other way” has already yielded it’s share of dividends. “Two weeks ago I found a partner for a handbag line that I’ve dreamed about since the seventh-grade,” Pratt says, “and I’m closer to my parents and I’ve never been happier in my life! I’ve had problems in my past, but I would just let them turn into snowballs that turned into avalanches. And this is the first time that I’ve ever done anything different.”

Audrina Patridge: A Night of Fire and Compassion
Audrina blogged on her website:
Firefighters are trained to handle many situations, cancer is not one of them. Last night I attended the 2nd annual Firefighter's cancer support network gala, I was so pleased to see that the event had more than doubled from last year. Due to their extremely dangerous work environment firefighter's are the highest risk group for cancer. You can't help but feel responsible when you consider these brave men and women are risking their lives in more ways than the obvious every day. It gave me chills when Mike Dubron, the founder and host, asked all of the cancer survivors in the room to stand up and a large portion of the room rose to their feet. It took me by surprise when he then gave them coins with a phrase I had used in a blog I wrote last year about the gala. "Fighting cancer with fire" It is such an honor to be involved in the event and I truly had a wonderful evening being surrounded by so many brave heroes!

Whitney Port: Defend Equality Love Unites!
Whitney blogged on her website
Hi guys!
I wanted to tell you all about an amazing opportunity I had this week. Are any of you familiar with the artist Shepard Fairey? You may not know the name, but you would for sure recognize his art. He is the artist behind the iconic Obama "HOPE" poster.
Shepard Fairey designed the "Defend Equality Love Unites" image at the request of young activists after the passage of Prop 8 in California. I am proud to be one of over 100 celebrities who have customized Fairey's original print in support of marriage equality. I did not want to stray too much from his original idea, so I just used my artistic touch to make the print a little more bold!
The online auction is live for four weeks and all funds raised go directly to grassroots marriage equality organizations in California and beyond. Please take a look at CharityBuzz.com and spread the word about this amazing project!
xoxo,
Whit

Lauren Conrad Stephanie Pratt and Lo Bosworth @ Assassins Creed II Launch Party Sponsored by MAXIM 11/11
It was a mini “Hills” reunion last night (November 11) as Lauren Conrad was spotted mingling with Lauren “Lo” Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt at the launch of the Assassin’s Creed II video game.
The former MTV reality star looked excited to see her old partners in crime as they posed for the paparazzi outside Voyeur nightclub in West Hollywood.
LC sported a white minidress along with a sparkly black jacket while Lo opted for a sleeveless black dress and Stephanie wore a glittery black mini.
Following the video game festivities, the two Laurens headed over to Katsuya restaurant for some girl time and grub while Miss Pratt went her separate way.

The rundown: TV's worst-dressed reality stars (includes Heidi Montag)
"Sex and the City" and "Gossip Girl" aside, TV's not known for its high fashion quotient. But some of its least stylish players hail from the reality TV realm. True, these regular style offenders don't have the advantage of working with a costume designer or stylist on set. But after searing our eyes with dozens of bejeweled Ed Hardy T-shirts (Jon Gosselin) and a shocking amount of cleavage (Heidi Montag) we find our empathy in short supply.
Here's our list of the most unfortunately dressed reality TV stars to date:
New York
The "Flavor of Love" veteran, who went on to star in her own VH1 show, "I Love New York," is famous for wearing outfits that look more like stretched-out rubber bands than actual clothes. Never one to concern herself with modesty, she likes her dresses booty-short and astoundingly low-cut. We're permanently cringing.
Jon Gosselin
The former "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" star doesn't just wear sparkly Christian Audigier T-shirts -- the glitz-master has been in talks to co-design a children's collection with the designer. To which we inquire: When's the last time anyone's seen that guy with kids?
Heidi Montag
Short-shorts and high cha-cha heels, baby-doll sundresses that barely contain her faux lady lumps and, well, American-flag bikinis -- Heidi Montag from "The Hills" relentlessly lowers the fashion bar with her pole dancer style. She even debuted a now-defunct clothing line, aptly dubbed Heidiwood, that was full of hot pants and graphic tees. Again, super classy.
Kim Zolciak
This "Real Housewife of Atlanta" is regularly clad in too-tight minidresses, frocks with plunging necklines and tops with a disturbing amount of ruffles. She recently launched a music career with the song "Tardy for the Party" that saw her gyrating on stage in what amounted to a black bodysuit and black leather gloves boasting huge, drooping pink ribbons. Mercy.
