Whitney Port models for Health Magazine

Summer calls for working some vibrant color into your wardrobe. As The City's Whitney Port proves, these looks are meant to garner attention. A lot of it.

It's two o'clock on a sunny Tuesday after noon, and Whitney Port is racing through New York City traffic. She's been filming for the second season of MTV's highly addictive reality series The City all morning and will be on camera again later tonight, so she's headed home to slip into one of her trademark drop-dead-sexy outfits. "Putting together a lot of looks can get really exhausting," the 24-year-old L. A. transplant says.

Fortunately, she doesn't get overwhelmed easily. This is a girl whose love life and career aspirations (she's currently working in public relations for Diane von Furstenberg) are being documented in front of millions of people. There may be some debate as to what's real and what's staged, but one thing's for sure: Those sick styles you see Whitney wearing in each episode are not the work of a wardrobe stylist. "I've always loved fashion," she says.

That passion has led to her own line of clothes, Whitney Eve, available at revolveclothing.com and select department stores. "It's a mix of West Coast and East Coast styles, with a little vintage flair. I also use lots of color," says Whitney, who gravitates toward bold palettes. "People get into a rut wearing the same thing day after day. It's important to try something new—even if it's just adding a pop with a vivid top."

On these pages, Whitney shows you how to wake up your own wardrobe with seven eye-catching looks. Black has never seemed so basic.
