Cameras Follow Heidi Montag to Colorado to Face Mom

After keeping her family in the dark about getting 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, Heidi Montag is finally heading home to Crested Butte, Colo., to confront her mom and reveal what she calls, “the new me.”
And camera crews for MTV’s The Hills are recording it all.
Montag — still in bandages she has to wear for portions of the day while her recovery continues — boarded a private jet bound for Colorado early Wednesday with her sister Holly.
The Hills star recently told PEOPLE her mom, Darlene Egelhoff, was horrified by the surgeries. “I still can’t believe I’m 23 and mom is reacting this way,” Montag said.
Despite conflicting reports that her mom was actually supportive of the surgeries, Montag told PEOPLE her mother didn’t know the extent of the procedures and only talked to her daughter after they were completed. At that point, her tune changed dramatically and Egelhoff became eager to confront Montag about going under the knife

Inside the brain of Kelly Cutrone

The high priestess of fashion PR and newly minted memoirist schools us on her New York.
By Sharon Steel for Time Out New York
Cutrone’s favorite places to buy black
The PR doyenne for People’s Revolution (peoplesrevolution.com) and star of a new Bravo series wears all black every day—and so do her minions. “It’s easy to look good in black, and for cheap; it looks like money,” she insists. One of her favorite shops for gothy-dark gear is If Boutique (94 Grand St between Greene and Mercer Sts, 212-334-4964). Says Cutrone, “They carry the best designers who are not my clients, like [Maison Martin] Margiela—the No. 1 king of black—followed by Yohji Yamamoto.” Cutrone also loves the Gap’s black button-down shirts, CP Shades black tees (cpshades.com) and “anything James Perse” (jamesperse.com).
Cutrone’s favorite places to buy everything else
Unlike many of her contemporaries, Cutrone doesn’t give a flip how she looks on camera. When asked where she gets her hair dyed, she laughs and suggests another question: “Why don’t we start with, ‘Do I comb my hair?’ Yeah, I comb my hair. Once a day.”
For special occasions, Cutrone patronizes Almog Beauty Salon (25 Thompson St between Grand and Watts Sts, 212-941-8199). “[Owner Almog Burbea]’s not, like, a hair snot or anything,” she says. “He does all the girls at the Rev.”
Zen Spa (32 Thompson St at Watts St, 212-226-5272) is another Soho fave. “When my color is on, I walk over there and get reflexology with my hair all Eddie Munstered out,” she says. That, or she grabs lunch at the Grand Street Deli (42 Grand St between Thompson St and Broadway, 212-625-3248). “It’s my favorite deli in New York; I go there with my hair robe on, too,” says Cutrone. “I’m like Sammy the Bull—one of those old-school mafia guys who used to walk around Little Italy. I’m the fashion-victim version of that, haunting my neighborhood.”
Cutrone on being a “power bitch”
“Being a bitch is being in total control of yourself. I’m 44. I’ve been around the block a couple of times. If you asked me this question at 23, I would have probably told you I was devastated. [But now] I don’t care. As long as they’re talking about me, it’s fine. Call me whatever you want.”
Cutrone on being a New Yorker
“I see myself represented in the spirit of New York City. [When I got here] it was like this tuning fork just started pulsating. You didn’t have to say please or thank you if you didn’t want to. You could do and say what you wanted. Things were moving really quickly, and work was the church that everyone was praying at. I loved how you could go into a store and someone would scream, ‘What’s your problem?’ And I was just like, This place is amazing! When you go other places, it’s a lonely little world.”
Catch her on the tube!
“It’s my retirement fund, babe,” crows Cutrone about her new show, Kell on Earth, which follows her daily goings-on at People’s Revolution. Anyone who watched MTV’s The Hills or The City solely for Cutrone’s appearances will go bananas for this one. It premieres Monday 1 at 10pm on Bravo.
Meet the power bitch!
Cutrone will sign copies of her new book, If You Have to Cry, Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You (Harper Collins), at Barnes & Noble (1972 Broadway between W 66th and 67th Sts, 212-595-6859) on Tuesday 2 at 7pm.
Cutrone’s marginally biased list of designers and shops to watch
Mara Hoffman (marahoffman.com)
“She is my client, but I think she’s really paid her dues. She’s prime for the taking right now.”
No. 6 (6 Centre Market Pl between Broome and Grand Sts; 212-226-5759, no6store.com)
Specifically, the shop’s clog boots. “I live for them,” says Cutrone. “Agyness Deyn, the model, she’s a friend of mine. She bought, like, six pairs. We all live in No. 6 clog boots.”
Anna Sheffield (annasheffield.com, bingbangnyc.com)
“I love her jewelry,” coos Cutrone. “My daughter and I share her bracelets.”

Audrina Patridge out at Fred Segal 1/26

Showing off her beautiful self, Audrina Patridge was spotted shopping in the rain in Hollywood, California on Tuesday afternoon (January 26).
Looking lovely in a casual-cute ensemble, the "Hills" hottie strolled past photogs as she popped into the popular Fred Segal boutique to pick up a few items.
Tweeting about the fun-filled outing, Audrina tweeted to her fans and followers, telling, "its a girly day today!!... hair, nails, and facials."
In a celebratory mood, the 24-year-old brunette beauty wrote a few hours earlier, "happy anniversay to my mom and dad!!! 26 years!! i love them sooo much!"

Heidi Montag - In Pain From Surgeries or Just Faking it?

Heidi Montag is feeling the pain of her plastic surgeries — so much so that she can’t even sleep at night! Heidi Tweeted on Jan. 26, “Catching up on sleep! I couldn’t fall asleep due to the pain I was in! I am so excited for a new day.”
Plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Lawrence told HollywoodLife.com, “Out of all the procedures [Heidi] had done, the breast augmentation revision would give her the most long term discomfort.” But still, that should have only lasted “for about three to four weeks. It is rather unusual to still be experiencing pain MONTHS after.”
But the recovering patient has been working out a LOT — doing yoga ad working out with a trainer — which could be contributing to the pain. Plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Shaffer tells us, “It is very unusual for [Heidi] to still be having this much pain. I tell my patients they can exercise one to two days after [the surgery] with cardio, but no crunches, push-ups, or sit-ups.”
Dr. Shaffer’s other theory? ”Honestly, I think she wants to keep this running as long as possible for the tabloids.”

Heidi Montag: Yoga Barbie

Here’s the thing. I like Heidi Montag. I’ve been watching her since the early days of “The Hills,” when she had a whole different face, she was Lauren’s BFF, and she was a newbie to the Hollywood scene. She was relatable—but she had a kind of cruel streak, like when she dumped her boyfriend for no reason other than she seemed to feel like it. This video? I don’t know. It’s just weird. I’ve done a lot yoga, but never have I done yoga like this. Heidi and her yoga instructor (?) strike a series of awkward poses, and Heidi evidences everything you’re not supposed to do in yoga. She seems more worried one of her implants is about to burst than getting into the yoga mindset. I always wonder what the deal is with stuff like this and her. You have to imagine that perhaps it’s Spencer behind the camera, shooting the weird-doll woman that (I suspect) he has pressured Heidi to turn herself into. In any case, it’s just sad. Right?

Blast From The Past: Lady Gaga Alongside Lauren Conrad & Whitney Port on 'The Hills'

Remember when Lady Gaga was on "The Hills?" No? That's fine because we've searched deep within the MTV archives and unlocked the September 2008 clip for your enjoyment.
You might be asking yourself: How did we remember that she was on "The Hills?" Well, to be quite honest, we didn't. But, "The City" star Kelly Cutrone did. When she stopped by our offices to chat about her new book, "If You Have to Cry Go Outside," and her new show, "Kell on Earth," the often forgotten Lady Gaga episode was resurrected from reality TV heaven.
"You know Lady Gaga; we put her on 'The Hills.' Do you remember that? Nobody remembers," Kelly said. "MTV has got to take credit for this right now because People's Revolution put Lady Gaga on TV before anybody... She's on there and Lauren or Whitney, I think, they break her jumpsuit and you barely see me on this episode. I was hanging in the backroom."
Now, we of course wanted all the dish and every detail that Kelly could remember about working with Gaga before she was the cultural phenom that she is today. And, Kelly recalls not wanting her to perform at the launch party for Dylan George. But, everyone else did, and as life would have it, Whitney and Lauren would up having to fix Gaga's zipper on her catsuit. The rest is TV history.
