Audrina Patridge previewed her new VH1 show, "Audrina" at the Reality Rocks convention on April 10 and told OnTheRedCarpet.com about what makes her family reality ready.
"I'm going to be 26 in a month and now it's really about me and my life and me being mature and taking my fans with me on this journey after 'The Hills,' Patridge told Rachel Smith of OnTheRedCarpet.com. "It's more about my family life and also behind the scenes, the paparazzi and my endorsements and just everything that everybody wants to know, I didn't say no to anything."
VH1 released an extended trailer for the show, which premieres on April 17 and it's apparent that Patridge's family will have plenty of material for the show, particularly the former "Hills" star's mother.
"She makes a perfect reality mom, not only is she gorgeous, she has a heart of gold, but she has no filter and her personality is larger than life and she says it how it is," Patridge told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "She doesn't hold back, so that definitely makes for good reality TV."
The veteran reality star also shared some advice to wannabe reality stars on the less-than-glamorous side of the business.
"You're gonna see what I go through, living through that [reality stardom] so then you can make your decision," Patridge told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "There's a glamorous side and then there's a not so glamorous side and that's what I show on the show. But you have thick skin, everyone is entitled to their own opinion - everyone's going to pick you apart and judge you, no matter what, but you have to be true to yourself and keep your family with you."
In the course of the first season, Patridge also breaks up with her on-again-off-again boyfriend of 2-years, Australian BMX racer Corey Bohan, who lashed out at the reality star on his Twitter page in March.
"A girl that's told yes by everyone surrounding them grows up to be a heartless closed off insecure individual," Bohan Tweet on March 16. "Time 2 pick up the pieces & stop being so sad! Some woman will always be empty & rotten from the inside out. U can't love a heartless woman."
Patridge said at the time that her ex was just bitter and has been since playing the field, but laments that it's frustrating that every time she's photographed with a male, the press says she is dating him.
"They don't give me a chance to date and enjoy myself and just go to lunch, go to dinner, I don't get that! If you're seen with someone, you're dating them, it's kind of crazy."
