Lauren Conrad Explains Why She Won't Get To Wear Her New Line, Paper Crown (until March)

"I tend to spill on things," Lauren Conrad explains, which means her business partner (and childhood friend), Maura McManus, isn't letting Conrad wear any of the samples from their new collection, Paper Crown, until after Coterie wraps up. "This is entirely self-funded," the 25-year-old explains, which is just one of the reasons she wants the collection of romantically tinged party dresses and leather leggings to be in pristine collection when boutique owners from across the country descend on the three-day-long NYC trade show to place their orders. "It's just three of us," she adds, "so I'll be there, working our booth!"
Sadly, none of their New York City escapades will be caught on tape, after MTV decided to pass on the pilot they ordered from the star, which was intended to document the launch of the line. "I'm disappointed," she explains, "because I loved the show, but ultimately they wanted it to be about my personal life." And while Conrad has received offers from companies eager to pick up where MTV left off, she's torn, if only because it would be just half of the story. "Since we stopped production, we finalized the line, shot the lookbook, and now we're going to New York," she explains. "The show was about a group of friends coming together and making something from scratch, and that's what we wanted to capture."
While film crews missed those crucial final moments, the effort is captured in the Paper Crown lookbook, which is packed with pieces that look like they could have been lifted straight out of Conrad's own closet. "I know how important branding is," she explains, "so it feels very cohesive, and very much like me." Case in point, she can't wait to take one of the tiered maxi dresses for a spin, and she intends to pair it with the Paper Crown cropped leather jacket. "It's a very romantic dress, but the jacket toughens it up a bit," she adds. While the line is significantly more expensive than the LC Lauren Conrad collection, which she'll continue to design for Kohl's, Conrad is aiming for a high cost-per-wear ratio with Paper Crown. "Nothing is overly trendy," she adds. "We want these pieces to be in people's closets for a long, long time."

Dr Ryan's Mother Lashes Out At Heidi Montag

In her first interview since the death of her famed plastic surgeon son, Mary Kate Ryan has opened-up about her loss to RadarOnline.com and slammed his former patient, Heidi Montag.
Mary Kate vehemently denies claims by the reality star that Dr. Frank Ryan coerced her into undergoing extensive surgery, and branded Montag's comments about Ryan as "vindictive."
"I don't like vindictive [people]. He's gone now, forget it," Mary Kate told RadarOnline.com in an emotional interview as she attended the First & Hope Supper Club Benefit For Dr. Frank Ryan in downtown Los Angeles on Monday night.
"What she did I don't think it's right. He's gone."
Mary Kate is of course referring to an ABC Primetime Special titled Celebrity Plastic Surgery Gone Too Far? where 24-year-old Montag blamed Dr. Ryan for coercing her into undergoing numerous surgeries and for not adequately warning her about all the issues associated with plastic surgery.

During the interview Montag revealed she had had a slew of "work" done including: a brow lift, a nose job, her ears pinned back, her chin shaved, a second breast enlargement, her back "scooped out", fat injected into her cheekbones and lipo on her inner and outer thighs.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported Montag, then 23, underwent a mind boggling TEN plastic surgery procedures in just one single day, courtesy of Dr Ryan, back in November 2009, totally transforming both her face and her body.
She later claimed Dr Ryan 'misled' her, saying: "I wouldn't do it again... If I could go back, I'd wouldn't have had them...It was a lot harder than I was led on by my doctor... I didn't know how excessive it really was."
Mary Kate, however, says Montag asked for all the procedures herself and says that her claims are simply ridiculous.

"One minute she says his hands were created by God and the next minute she's saying she's upset with her body," Mary Kate told RadarOnline.com. "This woman's statements are not true. Everyone knows that's not true. There were people present during the consultations she had with my son. Unfortunately, it's the world we live in and it's sad."
Mary Kate says she misses her son and hopes that Monday's benefit will remind people of the good man Dr. Ryan was and how he was a pillar in the community.
"Today means something for my son," she said as she began to cry. "We're going to keep his legacy alive. He did a lot of good. He worked hard for where he is by himself. It wasn't just given to him."
As for Montag, Mary Kate says she has absolutely no hard feelings toward her - instead, she feels sorry for the reality star.
"She's young," Mary Kate says. "She'll find out when she gets older about the world she lives in."

Video: Kristin Cavallari on Access Hollywood

Kristin Cavallari stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Wednesday and dished to Billy Bush and Kit Hoover about the ghosts of her reality TV past, as well as her current boyfriend, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.
“Is he the one?” Kit asked Kristin.
“I’d like to say yes,” Kristin said with a giggle.
“I love Chicago,” the blonde reality star said of her time in the city. “My mom is there — and that side of my family — so, I get to spend time with my mom who I don’t get to see that often. But it’s been great. I love the city and during the football season I was there a lot. Now, we’re both out here.”
While Kristin is happily in a relationship at present that wasn’t always the case – especially, back when MTV documented her “Laguna Beach” love triangle with Lauren Conrad and Stephen Colletti.
“What ever happened with Stephen Colletti?” Kit asked. “Do you keep in touch with that cute boy in the pick-up truck?”
“Stephen is acting,” Kristin said. “He’s on ‘One Tree Hill’ and he’s been working and staying under the radar, which, for him I think, is what he wants. I still talk to Stephen from ‘Laguna Beach’… and from ‘The Hills’ I still talk to Stephanie and Stacie, and that’s about it.”
Kristin also addressed the rumors that “The Hills” was scripted.
“‘Laguna Beach’ was definitely more real than ‘The Hills.’” Kristin said. “We only filmed ‘The Hills’ three days a week, and we did three different scenes each day and a change of clothes to film a specific scene. They were pushing it as far as they could go without an actual script… They give you a schedule like, ‘You have lunch with Heidi at 3:00 to talk about the party coming up,’ or whatever the situation may be.”
She was quick to clear up the misconceptions about “The Hills” on-air intervention plot-point during which her co-stars expressed concerns that she had a problem with drugs.
“That was really unfair,” Kristin confessed. “That wasn’t MTV, that was one producer in particular that was responsible for that, and of course, after the show aired and that came out, all the girls started talking and telling me what really happened. One producer told the girls what to say and it got as far as bribing one girl with a purse. It was really nasty stuff.
“I never had an issue whatsoever,” she continued. “I mean Us Weekly, it was like, ‘Her parents want her to go to rehab,’ and both of my parents were like, ‘Nobody called me and asked me.’”
Kristin has segued from reality to scripted television and will be appearing tonight on “The Middle” as a biology teacher. “The Middle” airs Wednesday nights on ABC.
