Whitney Port Gets 'Empowering' Advice From Her Mentors

Whitney Port is definitely learning about the business world on the new season of "The City," and she knows the women she works with can teach her a lot about what it takes to cut it in the fashion industry. The people over at Seventeen magazine seemed to think Port's perseverance in the cutthroat industry made her a perfect candidate for the cover of the October issue.
Port dished to MTV News at the issue's release party Tuesday (September 8) that working for design maven Diane Von Furstenberg and PR queen Kelly Cutrone has showed her that it takes a strong personality to make it. Both women have given her key advice to make her dreams come true.
"Diane really taught me a lot about empowering myself as a woman, and in my relationship world, she taught me a lot about appreciating myself and putting myself first," Port said.
This season of "The City" shows Whitney taking a cue or two from Cutrone as well. While Cutrone and Von Furstenberg may seem like very different people, they gave Port very similar advice.
"She's really boosted my confidence," Port said of the tough-as-nails Cutrone. "And made me believe in myself and really taught me I should just follow my dreams and not be afraid to fail."

The show's executive producer Liz Gately confirmed the news to PEOPLE on Tuesday at the Seventeen magazine celebration of Port's October cover.
The two had been dating since June, and viewers will still get to see their relationship play out through the season.

Audrina Patridge - Maxim October 2009 Issue - interview pics and cover

Audrina Patridge may have lightened her hair a bit, but the girl best known as The Hills’ sole brunette still stands a shade apart from her bleached brethren. Currently appearing on her last season of the MTV “reality” show that made her a star, the Cali native is also starring in this month’s collegiate horror flick Sorority Row and next year’s tentatively (and creatively) titled Hills spin-off, The Audrina Show. Try to keep things tidy, boys.
Tell us about Sorority Row.
I play a sorority girl who gets cheated on. And if you cheat on one Theta Pi, you cheat on all Theta Pis, so me and the other sisters decide to pull a prank on my boyfriend—which does not go according to plan. It’s very gory, but it also has a lot of comedy, so when you’re not getting scared and jumping, you’re laughing.
Is this really going to be your last season on The Hills? Why?
You know, it’s just something that I felt inside. I’m an adult now, and I don’t need all the petty drama and drinking and fighting. I’ve done that, and I’m ready to move on.
Can you spill anything about The Audrina Show?
The producer is Mark Burnett, who executive-produced Survivor. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at my life in L.A.—the movies and shoots and parties. It’s not as glamorous as it appears, plus it’ll actually feature people I know. It’s, like, real.
What’s the craziest pick-up line you’ve ever gotten?
This guy at a club once told me, “If you were a door, I would slam you all night long.” I just laughed it off.

Audrina Patridge on her castmates and leaving 'The Hills'

The wackiest things Hills star Audrina Patridge has heard about herself?
"That I have chin implants, cheek implants, a nose job ... God, everything," she tells October's Maxim.
Her love life is scrutinized too.
"I took my brother out one night, and he was my boyfriend the next day," says reality star, 24, who is back on with Australian BMX rider Corey Bohan. "I went out with a cousin another night, then he was my boyfriend. Someone also said I was pregnant with somebody's love child. I was like, 'Do I look pregnant?'"
Patridge also opens up about her Hills pals.
"I barely talk to Lauren," she says of Conrad, who left the show last season. "We'll text every now and then, but that's about it."
As for newlywed Heidi Montag? "Heidi, um, keeps asking me to go to Bible study with her," she says. (LOL!)
Patridge — who recently announced she is leaving The Hills after next season — says she is ready to exit.
"You know, it's just something that I felt inside," she says. "I'm an adult now, and I don't need all the petty drama and drinking and fighting. I've done that, and I'm ready to move on."
She says her own reality show will be different.
"It's a behind-the-scenes look at my life in L.A. -- the movies and shoots and parties. It's not as glamorous as it appears, plus it'll actually feature people I know," says the Sorority Row star. "It's, like, real."
