Audrina Patridge: Behind the Breakup with Ryan Cabrera

Audrina Patridge and Ryan Cabrera had a good four months of dating going. We're sad it didn't last longer for them. But we're not shocked.
A source confirms that she and Ryan split up "a little over a week" ago.
"Things started to go awry the night of her birthday and she ended things after that - pretty much the next day," explains an insider of the now-former couple.
Audrina Patridge, who just turned 25, and Cabrera, 27, spent May 9 in Las Vegas partying at Liquid Pool at Aria, then later at Las Palmas Latin Supper Club.
Things seemed to be going so well, too, but they took a turn for the worst early this month. The biggest issue behind Audrina's breakup with the singer?
"Ryan’s a constant partier and that became an issue," says the source. "Audrina was crying at Wango Tango ... MTV made her film and she didn't want to."
And it sounds like Ryan isn't wasting any time. According to a source, Cabrera was spotted at Trousdale Lounge in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (May 18) flirting with a brunette, and whispering with her all night.

Audrina Patridge and Ryan Cabrera Break up!

In case you missed it on twitter last night. Casey Loza (Audrina's sister) announced that the cast were filming their vacation in Coata Rica AND that Audrina and Ryan had split up. Here's a copy of the tweets:

Casey: "Questions about hills episode tonight? Since audrina is in costa rica w cast she put me in charge of making notes for recap........ I'm not under any contracts. I can reveal whatever I feel like :p"

When she was asked why Ryan wasn't with Audrina on the trip she replied:
"audrina and ryan aren't together. she ended things with him on a friendly note."

And in reply to the statement "That's the reason why some people said that she was crying at wango tango?
Casey said: "fresh breakup and ur dude sings (he sings all love songs!) staring at you. i think any girl would cry."

Whitney Port Spills On Her Line, Secret Shopping Stops & Kelly Cutrone!

‘The City’ starlet and designer shares her spring/summer style tips, talks about the trends she wishes she could forget, tells you how to look good on a budget, and spills on her relationship with Kelly Cutrone!
Where do you usually draw your inspiration from? What’s your inspiration behind the spring line you’re working on now?
“I draw all of my design inspiration from my life. I try to keep the easy and casual California girl in me, mixed with a New York City girl. So effortless, vibrant and empowering."
What’s your relationship like with Kelly Cutrone? How has it grown/changed from when you first started working for her?
“Kelly and I are good friends. She and I have a relationship on a different level since I worked for her, she has evolved into a good friend and always offers great advice. I consider her a mentor.”
What was your first big purchase after being on The Hills?
“A Miu Miu purse.”
What are five things you think every girl should have in their closet this season?
“1. This season I think every girl should have a great pair of shorts. Shorts are so versatile; pair them with heels and a blazer for a night out, or wear them with a comfortable pair of ballet flats. Either way, you will look chic and can wear them tons of different ways. I have a great pair of shorts in the Whitney Eve collection that I wear all the time.”
“2. I also love stripes this season, you can pick up striped pieces anywhere from Intermix and Barneys to the Gap and American Apparel, so there is a broad price range.”
“3. An industrial/army style jacket is a popular trend this spring. With the NYC weather always changing, it’s smart to never leave home without one. This is a great way to add a touch of effortless style to your look and these jackets also range in price; Rag and Bone, Theory or JCrew, you can pick one up at any price point.”
“4. Bright and fun nail polish. Instantly liven up a simple white t-shirt and jeans. Bright nails are fun and are an easy way to be daring. Experiment with green and neon colors which are perfect for warm weather months.”
“5. This season, all girls need a great flirty dress in nude or watercolor tones that they can wear out at night or to work. You can always pair it with different accessories to create a new look every time.”
How would you describe your personal style?
“I mix high and low… play off of vintage pieces and update them with modern accessories. Don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns, textures, colors.”
What shopping advice would you offer to a girl who wants to look good on a budget?
“Make sure that anything you buy matches with many different things and can be worn many different ways- for example buy tops that can be dressed up or down, can be worn with jeans, black pants or a pencil skirt.”
What was your last purchase under $50? $30?
“Under $50- an American Apparel Tank Top. Under $30-Butterfly Hanky Pankys.”
Do you have any secret shopping stops in LA & NYC?
“In LA-Market and Feature in Brentwood, in NYC- Trash and Vaudeville on St Marks Place.”
What’s one trend you regret following?
“Pashminas.”
If there’s one celeb you would love to see wearing your collection, who is it and why?
“Ashley Olsen, Kate Bosworth, Rihanna, Kiera Knightley – they are so ahead of the trends, willing to take chances and rock everything they put on.”
Where do you see yourself in five years?
“Continuing to design and developing my clothing line.”

Interview With Erin Kaplan: I Want To 'Avoid Saying Something I'll Regret'

On tonight's episode of "The City," Erin Kaplan savored the sweet taste of validation when a focus group chose the Fergie cover she'd been pulling for ever since attending the shoot in L.A. The loyal ELLE employee was never looking for a fight with Joe Zee, just a fair chance to voice her opinion. And by calm(ish)ly reasoning with him (and allowing the readers to speak for themselves), Erin successfully proved that she's got the experience and intuition to steer the mag in the right direction.
We reached out to Erin to get her reactions to seeing tonight's episode, as well as her thoughts on hard work, professionalism and yes, Olivia Palermo. Check out what she had to say:
RC: Why do you think Joe is constantly defending Olivia's strengths as an editor?
EK: I think Joe really believes that she has great personal style and a good eye for fashion. I definitely don't disagree with him on that, but there's so much more to being an editor -- and I'm not sure she realizes that.
RC: You really rallied behind the photo of Fergie that ultimately made the cover –- what about that picture stood out to you over the one Joe liked?
EK: Both covers were incredible, so it would have been difficult to go wrong.
RC: You mentioned to us at the end of last season that you wanted to do a better job of controlling your facial expressions on the show. Is that still a conscious effort, and how is it going for you so far?
EK: It's not going too well! I seem to be making more facial expressions this season, which is pretty embarrassing! I actually think I make so many facial expressions to avoid saying something I'll regret.
RC: Regardless of all the Olivia nonsense, you seem to truly want what's best for the magazine. Do you think Olivia does as well?
EK: There are a few events coming up that make me think she doesn't, but I won't reveal. ... Just from what has aired so far, I think if she wanted what was best for the magazine she would have gone to Whitney's shoot like she was asked. It was her job that day, and it would have been the right thing to do, regardless of her personal feelings. I think we ALL have to do things sometimes that we wish we didn't -- it's just part of the job!
RC: Olivia has a friendship with the new fashion director, Alexis -- is that a good or bad thing?
EK: I think Alexis is amazing and a fantastic addition to ELLE, so if Olivia can learn from her, that's a GREAT thing!
