Whitney Port: Hot Designer in 'The City'
Good thing Whitney Port is young and vivacious -- the 24-year-old former Hills star has a boatload going on.
Her show, MTV's The City, just kicked off a new season. In this Hills' spinoff, the cameras follow Port around, after the L.A. transplant leaves Diane Von Furstenberg to work on her own line of partywear, called Whitney Eve.
Port is also employed at New York's PR company People's Revolution, which coincidentally pushes the collection of elegant-meets-girly stuff, which showed at NYC's Fashion Week in September.
``I wanted to produce a clothing line that could appeal to a mass audience and make girls feel comfortable,'' Port told The Miami Herald. ``A lot of the looks go from day to night, are easy to accessorize and transform to a more formal look. I want the collection to grow and adapt as I do.''
Talk about growing and adapting -- Port is also becoming a beauty maven, helping to create a new ecofriendly lipstick for Cargo called Eve Pinky, $20 at Sephora.
``I don't wear a lot of makeup and thought it was a fun idea to have a bright lip,'' Port said. ``An understated eye and bright lip is a great balance and the color looks good on most skin tones.''
As for new episodes of the quasi-reality show, viewers can see Port -- who broke up with rocker Jay Lyons -- navigate Gotham's singles scene.
``There are a couple of new characters and I'm single, which I wasn't last season, so there is a lot of dating,'' she said. ``It's a very different feel, but I love experiencing New York for the first time like this.''
