"Heidi and I aren't speaking to each other right now," Egelhoff told Us Weekly on Mother's Day in 2010. "I've been writing to Heidi, trying to reach her, but she's not responding."
he state of their fractured relationship wasn't exactly surprising, given the way Egelhoff reacted to Montag's new face and body when she revealed her new look on The Hills. (The reality star received 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, including a chin reduction, brow lift and breast augmentation.)
"How do I go and say that of course I thought you were more beautiful before? I thought you were younger, I thought you were fresher-looking, I thought you were healthier," Egelhoff told Montag as MTV cameras rolled. "What's done is done, so that's a terrible thing for me to say but, yes, that's how I feel. I felt that you were much more beautiful before and I hope that some of this will fade away."
Montag's husband, Spencer Pratt, 28, also helped drive a wedge between the mother-daughter duo. "She's not god. She didn't make Heidi," Pratt sniped on the May 11, 2010 episode of The Hills. "She's just a vagina!"
Through time, however, Montag and her mother have been able to forgive each other and work towards rebuilding their relationship. And on June 13, 2012, the pair bonded during a wine tasting at the Demetria Estate in California's Santa Ynez Valley. The two women even stripped down for a Swedish massage, giving Montag an excuse to show off her much-talked about body.
These are so staged but I'm glad to see Heidi is finally reconnecting with her family again! I hope it lasts and it's not just another PR stunt...who wants to bet that Spencer is the one behind the camera! ;)

That's wonderful I'm happy for Heidi's mom. Unfortunately every single shot is staged. I'm sure Heidi received pay for them from Splash.
ReplyDelete4 me she's sad and pathetic... She's the living example of what happens when you do not handle the popularity. Poor girl!
ReplyDeleteA.
She will do anythingn for 15 more mins of fame.I hope her mother knows that.
ReplyDeletemountain ladies.
ReplyDeleteI hope she is sharing some of the money from these photos with her Mom and speaking of, why is her Mom even taking part in this? Am I the only one who thinks they are both nuts?
ReplyDeleteThe pictures would have been sweeter if it was just one or two. Also, it would have looked a lot more natural if Heidi was capable of changing her facial expression.
ReplyDeleteThey're both broke. It's sad that they couldn't just reunite and leave it at that. But as long as there's an audience for them they'll continue to stage photos and make some pocket change.
ReplyDeletePoor Heidi. She's really lost. Imagine thinking Spencer is your whole world? Ugh.
Ugh is right!
Deletecrazy how much we all loved Heidi in season 1 & 2 too hating her during the rest. Who would have thought this would be Heidi now? Lauren is the only normal one and thats why we all love her x
ReplyDeleteNot me. I wanted to like her in season 1 & 2 but I never did. What I do miss is how confident and carefree she was. I still smile when I think of her skipping after her interview with Brent Bolthouse, or her feet doing a dance in the bathroom stall when she was bitching about her job to LC. Her happiness was contagious back then. I guess it must have been an act because if she was that confident Spencer never would have gotten under her skin the way he did! :(
DeletePS you are so right about Lauren being the only normal one! :D
DeleteI'm really surprised that her mother would go along with this staged photo shoot. If after a two year estrangement, the first thing you go do is run out and do a photo shoot, something is wrong. Why not take some private time to reconnect? Either her mom is crazy just like she is or she is desparately trying to get back into the good graces of her daughter. Where is Holly, by the way?
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised too. I know her mom did a staged photo shoot with Heidi & Spencer a few years ago but after the estrangement (and all crap they said about her in the press) why do it again? And no, imo, being broke is not a valid reason. Yes, times are tough but any job would be better than sacrificing your dignity!
