Whitney Port Debuts Whitney Eve Line At NYC Fashion Week
The City" star Whitney Port showed her spring 2010 Whitney Eve collection at New York fashion week on Thursday (September 10), and some of Bryant Park's most familiar faces packed the tent to check out her latest designs.
Port showed alongside Nicholas K and Mara Hoffman for a group presentation of their spring lines. Not to spoil anything, but there might have been a "City" co-star or two in the house. The show was on a fashionably late schedule, starting nearly 40 minutes late. After the Nicholas K collection, Port's designs made their debut.
Whitney Eve mixes silver and gold metallics, airy fabrics and draping and details like slits, ruffles and cutouts for a girly, put-together look. Several modern takes on the business suit were shown, pairing slim pants and feminine boyfriend-style blazers. And the look got a little edgier with a party dress or two that had exposed zippers. The clothes looked like anything you might see Whitney wear in an episode of the "City" on the street in a paparazzi photo.
Whitney stepped out to thank the crowd all dolled up in pastels with a big smile on her face before Mara Hoffman showed her collection.
In addition to the clothes, the program billed Port as the music supervisor for her portion of the show. Some cuts played during the show included the Rolling Stones' "She's a Rainbow," Goldfrapp's "Ooh La La," the Waitresses' "I Know What Boys Like," Leo Sayer's "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" and the Ohio Players' "Love Rollercoaster."
